The Best Brands Awards 2020 are approaching rapidly: Now the brands that made it into the top 10 of the five categories at Germany's only study-based brand award have been determined. The awards gala with a keynote speech by Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace, will take place on 19 February 2020 at the Bayerischer Hof in Munich. The band Mando Diao will be entertaining the guests live at the gala.

Munich, 22 January 2020 — For the 17th time, the strongest brands of the year will be honoured with the Best Brands Award. This year, the prize is awarded in the categories "Best Corporate Brand in Europe", "Best Product Brand", "Best Future Tech Brand", “Best Growth Brand” and in this year's special category "Best Sustainability Organization".

Swedish indie rock stars Mando Diao will be playing live for the guests at the event, it will once again be hosted by popular German entertainer Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.

Best Brands is the only brand award that measures the strength of a brand on the basis of extensive representative studies by GfK using two criteria: actual economic market success and the attractiveness of the brand in the perception of consumers. This was used as the basis for determining the top 10, which have now been established.

The winner in each category, together with the first nine runners-up, will be announced during the gala on 19 February, and in a press release following the event.

The Best Brands Awards have been presented to the strongest brands of the year since 2004. In the last 17 years they have developed into one of the most important industry events of the year, with around 650 invited guests from business, trade and the media.

Best Brands is jointly organized as a partner event by GfK, ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, Markenverband, WirtschaftsWoche, ZEIT Verlagsgruppe, RMS Radio Marketing Service, Media Impact and the Serviceplan Group. The brand award is now also taking place annually in China, Italy, Belgium, France and Russia.

In addition to the evening gala, Best Brands also includes a daytime Best Brands College with lectures and workshops by top-class speakers. The college takes place at the House of  Communication in Munich. This year's college centres around the following topic: " Purpose as a new currency - how companies position themselves as successful brands of the future through value-oriented brand management".
