Serviceplan Campaign International designed and produced a spectacular TV spot to mark the start of the worldwide market launch of the BMW 8 Series Coupé.

The car is elegant and sporty as it zips across the canals of Venice, past magnificent Palazzi and sights such as the Canale Grande and Rialto Bridge.

For the first time in its history, the city of Venice granted permission to erect a pontoon construction for the shooting, which made it possible to steer an automobile through the world-famous backdrops in the historic city centre.

The concept: No matter what we have done or achieved in life or what the future holds for us - the moments when we do something for the first time always have a certain magic. For example our first kiss, our first steps, the first moon landing. These are moments that we will never forget and will remember as unique, more genuine and intense. Doing something for the first time often requires courage. It takes strength to question the status quo; imagination to find new paths; strength to dream big – and boldness to make those dreams come true.

That's why the BMW 8 Series Coupé was brought to Venice, a place where cars are usually forbidden; a place where a great past meets an exciting present.
